Around 25,000 residences in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the state, bringing strong winds hitting over 100 km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Broad Damage
Locals reported giant hailstones measuring up to seven centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts verified that different parts across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units working to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, approximately 1,000 households in Victoria also encountered electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area experienced its most precipitation in 18 months.
State Emergency Services handled 598 emergency reports across the region, primarily for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

During the peak on yesterday, more than 28,000 energy customers in the state were without power.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
The following day was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both states.

Public health experts alerted that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, specifically given the current weather patterns.
