A extended cruise through the Australian Coast was terminated following the fatal incident of an older female passenger who was abandoned by the vessel on a distant tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been hiking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the cruise ship, but separated from the group for a pause. The vessel departed without her and came back several hours later after the crew became aware the lady was missing.

A major rescue mission discovered her remains the next day.

Investigative bodies are looking into the incident, alongside law enforcement and the official investigator.

The CEO of the voyage organizer said that passengers and staff on the Coral Adventurer were told that the rest of the journey had been cancelled due to the "unfortunate death and previous technical problems".

Through an announcement, he added that guests would be provided a full refund, and said the organization was working "to coordinate the travel back of the individuals via private aircraft".

Officials also issued an updated announcement, and said they had "delivered a order to the Commander" prohibiting any additional guests from entering the ship.

The spokesperson said that they would attend the liner in Cairns upon its coming back.

The liner originally sailed from Cairns on October 24th, and was only 48 hours into the expedition at the moment of the senior passenger's passing. The remote island was the opening port on the journey.

"She was asked her to return, alone. Then the boat sailed away, seemingly without doing a roll call.

Company Response

Through an announcement, the Chief Executive confirmed that the company was "collaborating extensively with officials to assist their examination".

He stated that the company was "extremely apologetic that this has occurred" and had offered its full support to the family.

The liner serves up to 120 travelers with forty-six staff, according to corporate data. It was specifically designed to reach isolated areas of the nation's coast and is outfitted with "tenders" - minor craft used to take individuals on land visits.
